Etsy ♥

Later this week I have the pleasure of photographing three adorable boys – all turning One year old.  I wanted to test out a lens I have not used for kids before these boys come. I LOVED the results. I shot these yesterday when my Etsy orders came!  I thought I would share for two reasons – 1. Isn’t she cute?!  2. The hat and hair clip and ruffled bloomers all came from Etsy. All VERY  affordable. {I think the hat was $20, hair clip $3 and bloomers $12.  }  This is all you need to have some fun photos of your little babes! Find us on facebook too!

I went to my good friend, Emily’s horse ranch to photograph her family for their Christmas card. I am really proud of the first photo. I got a dog, two horses, and a one year old to participate in the picture!  It was a great mini session even if it was bitterly cold, and taken the perfect time of day – when the sun is on it’s way down.

A session with this family would never be complete with out a goofy picture of Bentley 🙂

Asher

She’s the kind of girl you envy.  Not only is she beautiful and sweet, but she lives a totally adventurous life.  I photographed her wedding in 2008 and shortly after, she and her husband moved to Germany for his job. They’ve traveled the world the past two years and also welcomed a new little guy into their already exciting lives.  Meet Asher. He’s about ten months old.  He probably has more stamps on his passport than I will rack up in my lifetime!  They’re home visiting and I was thrilled to photograph him for his first photoshoot.  They’re moving back to California this summer and I was talking his mom about planning a family vacation…California sounds nice….maybe you’ll see Asher on my blog again running along the beach!

This little beauty is turning One. It was a dream come true for me! Mom is an Etsy fan and brought darling clothing and hair apparel for her daughter to wear. It was a dreary, snowy day outside, but I am sooo happy to say every single one of these photos was done in the studio with natural light. I really would not want to do it any other way.  I love letting kiddos crawl around with out the worry of them getting out of range for flash bulbs.  Morgan’s dad is serving out country over seas so I do hope he enjoys the new photos of his baby girl!

Jack

Jack turns 3 this week.  He’s one year behind Taya and the two saw each other a couple weeks ago, and Jack is nearly taller than her!  We met in Eau Claire at the Rod n Gun park.  The light sort of got away from us. (I forget how quickly the sun sets in the fall), but we had fun and got some great shots.  We also brought some balloons along. I think we started with five..

and within and hour…..they were all gone!

family.

I grew up around this family, in fact, my first ever job was working for Don and Virg at their local grocery store. I was the deli girl until I graduated high school.   To this day, I still ONLY buy my meat and cheese from them. It’s the best in the country!  Seriously. If you don’t believe me, try it.  (Barney’s Meats, Weyerhaeuser, WI)  They showed up for their session with a bottle of wine and a package of filet mignons.  The following night, Brent made them. We about died at how excellent it was.. the best meal ever! We had invited my sister and her boyfriend (who is a chef) over to eat with us, and I think Brent and I were both secretly wishing we hadn’t – we didn’t want to share!  I have many, many wonderful memories of this family, and still talk often about how Virg taught me how to count back change to customers.  You wouldn’t think it’s a big deal, but you would be soooo surprised at the people who cannot do it!  I tell Brent every year he should teach a chapter on it in his Math class.  Enjoy!

Barney’s Meats is located on 5th Street in Weyerhaeuser, WI.  Phone :  715-353-2271  – Try their homemade brats and bacon!!
