Emily & Josh- Eau Claire Wedding Photographer

Not every thing goes as planned on a wedding day. With a year of ironing out the details and schedules, each bride and groom hopes nothing will go awry.  Emily & Josh are both in the wedding business, working at the Florian Gardens, so they more or less know the drill.  They chose not to see each other before their garden ceremony, but as we arrived, Dave (the owner) pulled me aside to show me the huge band of storms heading our way. He predicted rain by the time the ceremony starts.  We had two hours set aside for other photographs before the ceremony. I understand it’s a big deal to not see each other, so I approached them with the idea of a First look so they could both have a special moment AND get outdoor photos in the gardens in case the rain wouldn’t hold off for them. They agreed, and I’m so happy they did. We had plenty of time to photograph them, the wedding party, and even family. The rain did hold off until after the ceremony, but when it started at dinner, it poured and didn’t stop until well into the night.

Emily – I love this photo. You just look so hapy.

Eau Claire wedding photography – Gabrielle + Nathan

Gabrielle met Nathan for the first time at Applebee’s. She came home later that night and said to everyone that she would marry that man. She was right. Some time later, they arrived  at Applebee’s again, this time dressed in wedding attire and shared a table and a drink. I’m so happy I was asked to document their union. It was a beautiful day, and Ohhh Gabby’s veil, well it was too pretty for words.  Happy 4th of July!!

Maybe my favorite veil photo. Ever!

Attention to detail

Meet Gabby, who may be the most detail-oriented bride I have ever met. She did not forget a thing and customized her wedding to include everything imaginable, special and significant to her. I was intending on blogging their entire wedding today, but stopped when I realized there were just too many details to include in one post. So, this is dedicated to Gabby and her incredible attention to detail.

Some of these incredible details include..a photo guestbook, shoes in her favorite blue, crayons, treats, & a colorbook for each child, a Sweet Shop, Sashes on the chairs in blue, Mr. & Mrs. Sashes for their chairs, slideshow, Photobooth, Initial bags for her bridesmaids, A stop at the place they met (Applebee’s), Framed Seating charts, Candy bags, special rings tied to her bouquet, Programs about their bridal party, cocktail napkins with their names & wedding date, and believe it or not, there are more that are not shown here!

Taking a spin

I LOVE to photograph a girl spinning in her wedding dress. That moment for me ranks up there with the First Look.  And, it’s true…I maybe planning a dedication wall in my studio to both of my wedding favorites : )  While I’m preparing upcoming blog posts, I thought I would share some pictures of happy brides taking a little spin!

Nicki’s twirl (below) is ranking up there with my favorite of all time.

Sherri + Brian – ladysmith wedding photographer

This post is overdue! I  created it and saved a draft weeks ago, waiting for the couple to return from their honeymoon and it never made it to a published post.  My apologies for making you wait so long to see it…

Sherri & Brian were married in Ladysmith on a day that began sunny, but as Sherri finished her hair and got into her dress the rain started. First as a sprinkle, and then a steady downpour.  I was definitely nervous as we had so many photos to complete, but the clouds parted and the  sun came out very warm and bright just as the ceremony ended. It could not have been more perfect timing.

Oh, Kylie, you are too cute for words!

The car? A wedding present from Sherri’s Dad.

Kylie copying her mom : )

Kim + Jason – eau claire wedding photography

Kim and Jason’s engagement photos were taken on an evening where I couldn’t have asked for better light.  In between a lot of laughs and swatting bugs, they managed to nail the moment before the kiss creating my favorite image from the session (below).   They were both naturals in front of the camera – making my job very easy and I’m so looking forward to photographing their August wedding!

Wendy + Josh – Milwaukee, WI wedding photographer

Wendy is a girl after my own heart. She emailed me pictures of her venue and I almost died, I was so in love. Simple, clean gray planking on a boardwalk, a stunning walkway onto Lake Michigan, and the same cape cod kind of feel I have been attempting to create in my own home.  It wasn’t until we arrived that I realized she was also a girl after my husband’s heart. After enjoying the walkway on the lake and Brent wishing he had brought his fishing pole, we entered the building and he stopped. An aquarium? Fresh water fish? Brent fell in love right there and we spent the next two hours touring it, asking questions, Brent telling me take a picture of that, and that and that..

Wendy and Josh – We LOVED your wedding. We’re still talking about it. You are both so photogenic, I could barely stop taking photos at the end of the day. Wendy your dress……..ohhh I wish I owned it!  Josh’s suit was perfect. Loved the tie. The whole wedding was absolutely stunning.  Congratulations to you both!

Amanda + Isaac [mexico sunrise]

So began my last morning in Mexico with the newlyweds.  I’m a little sad this is my last blog post of their wedding weekend. We decided to meet up in the morning before I left to do a little shoot on the beach. The sun decided to break the clouds the minute they walked onto the beach at 6:30am, but this is the view I had while I sat on a chair and waited for them. Even with the direct light, they were stunning to photograph. Rather than fight the sun, I just went with it, and liked the result.

Don’t forget to vote on your favorite wedding image by leaving a comment/like on their album on our facebook page. The photo that receives the most will be made into a wall portrait for Amanda and Isaac!

Amanda did tell me they just rolled out of bed and walked down to the beach. For two people who were in bed sleeping just minutes before this shot, they look pretty darn hot! : )
