Fundraiser at Klinger Farms – Life and Style Photography

Every year at Klinger Farms gets better and better. The food was out of this world amazing and the greenhouses are overflowing with beautiful plants and flowers. The kindest people I know dedicate so much of their lives to raising money for special needs children. Yesterday they announced that with events like this, they’ve raised just shy of $100,000. That’s amazing! If you’ve followed my blog, you know I’m talking about Al & Richard. Just Friends Catering donated their time creating  the lunch & desserts and I think every person who came would vouch for how incredible it tasted. Here’s a peek at the dessert bar. Head over to Just Friends on facebook and see more photos. Happy Friday everyone.

Before dessert, there was lunch. I am such a fan of a nice light lunch, plus it leaves room for lots of dessert! My mom’s partner, Mary put on this beautiful display. The salad was so good I went back for seconds.

Whitney + Michael – Eau Claire wedding photographer

Whitney & Michael are getting married next fall. I met them a few weeks ago when we were still experiencing 70+ degree temps, so we were actually kind of warm during this shoot! The sunlight was so nice this evening. I’ve really laid low on wedding/engagement posts since I wrapped up with my 2011 wedding season the end of January, but I’m getting really excited to dive back into it! One week left and it begins. So excited to share all my couples with you!

Jordy + Jaelyn – Eau Claire newborn photography

I traveled to this family’s home to photograph their newest arrival, Jordy. He was so tiny and perfect and slept great through most of the session. The window light in their home was awesome. Jordy’s big sister, Jaelyn was a busy girl but we managed to get some photos of them together. She was very good at giving her little brother kisses. 🙂

I love photos like the one (above). It’s a great way to scale how tiny newborns are!

Looking forward to seeing this family again in July for their wedding!

Alyssa, Life and Style Kids

Meet sweet little Alyssa. She’s the third baby I’ve photographed for her parents. They are a busy family now with three little kids! Alyssa’s brother and sister played with my girls while we were in the studio. We had it nice and hot up there so she fell asleep pretty easily. I just LOVE her little hat and guess what? Her mom gave it to me to use for other newborn shoots. 🙂

Post wedding shoot.

I really dislike the term Trash the Dress. Yet, I cannot come up with a new name for a post-wedding shoot. Any ideas? I have no interest in destroying someone’s wedding dress.  I am interested in doing a post wedding shoot that is relaxed and casual and has a little different element than the wedding day.   This is a shoot meant for my couples who want to have a little fun after the wedding, maybe had two styles in mind for their wedding day and want to have some fun with both. . . AND are interested in collaborating with me to make their wedding into a magazine spread. Kayla and Troy could not catch a break for weather. Their wedding day was freezing and their post-wedding shoot was just as cold…..but it gave me exactly what I wanted. VARIETY.  Two styles that compliment each other to merge together in a magazine. (I’ll have more information about the magazine coming out soon!)

Do you need to do this session in order to order a magazine of your wedding? No, but I do really like the look of it. If you think you might want to schedule a shoot: I would suggest doing it within two weeks after your wedding, before you send your dress off to the cleaners. It’s casual, just like an engagement session. No need for the rented tux, have your hubby wear something he owns.

Stacie + Chris – Tagalong, Birchwood Wisconsin wedding photographer

My first wedding of 2012 was fantastic. Despite dealing with 14 degree temps, the entire wedding party was really cheerful. Tagalong was a perfect shelter for indoor photos, and Stacie & Chris created a stunning set for their ceremony.  We even had some time to play around with night shots, which seem to be growing in popularity. Stacie & Chris – you guys were so kind to us, we’re so happy we got to start the year off photographing your wedding day!

NYE Wedding – Life and Style Photography

I would spend every New Year’s from now until forever wanting to photograph a wedding. Here is a glimpse at my last wedding of 2011. Mallory and Justin- you guys did amazingly well in the cold and evening snow.  Mallory spent a little time on Pinterest finding some new ideas for photos. The two photos of them not seeing each other but holding hands before the ceremony was all her idea, as well as the sparklers.  It was fun trying something new! Thank you both so much! Congrats.

This may very well be in my top five favorite bouquets of the year. It’s so appropriate for winter and I loved the green grassy looking stuff.

Susan + Zach – Life and Style Photography

So…December really didn’t look much like December this year. I was a tad bit bummed about the lack of snow, but after this little cold spell of “real” winter weather, I’m very thankful for the mild temperature Susan and Zach got for their wedding day.  It was still cold (trust me) but bearable for a few minutes at a time.  Honestly, it could have been 50 below with 100 mile an hour winds and I don’t think it would have diminished a thing for this couple on their wedding day.  They are just insanely happy people and it kind of filters in this big bubble around them.  We all had an incredible time. Their first look was in my top five too.  Big thanks to JD at Midwest Entertainment for provided the beautiful ambiance you see in the photos of the Metropolis. I’m telling you…….lighting is EVERYTHING when it comes to photography. I loved the pink accents. Enjoy!
